Subject: Manteo Christmas Parade
hi. We are wanting to come down for the weekend of the Christmas parade which is Dec. 5th. We usually stay in the McMansions and want to stay in a really nice hotel/resort this time. Only going for 3 days and a house is not a first choice for a short stay. So any suggestions an any really nice places to stay? This will also be around the time of our anniversary so extra nice would be extra special. Thanks.

Sanderling is the best. Hilton Garden is pretty good too.

The Sanderling and Hilton Garden are by far the highest priced, but are completely different in appearance, amenities and very importantly location. I would choose Sanderling. Now if their prices are TOOOOOOO much for you, try the Nags Head Inn. It's on the Beach and kept up well. No Restaurant, Spa etc. like Sanderling has.

Manteo Christmas Parade is held on a Saturday Morning in Downtown Manteo. Small Town, warm parade with numerous local organizations, floats, several bands and lots of candy for the kids. It is generally about an hour or a bit longer. But the best part is the annual tree lighting the night before with caroling and a seasonal show and entertainment.

Look for Bed and Breakfasts in Manteo or Nags Head - there are some nice ones

The Friday night before the parade is also very enjoyable. I have been going for years. They close off the downtown Manteo streets to cars and have lots of activities such as: a huge wood fire in the street, free cupcakes and cocoa, Christmas carols, dancers, skits and a short play about the earliest settlers on the steps of the old courthouse, shops all decorated and open with free food and items for sale, the lighting of the town Christmas tree on the Manteo waterfront and a visit from Santa. It is always well attended and it just sets me in the mood for the holidays.

agree with 821 there are some great B&Bs in Manteo and then you are there for the parade and celebration.
