Hey The Dude, how was your vacation? You got us all hyped up and jealous. Did you have a good trip?

Yes! Great Weather good Times,Caught some fish,lost My Pants,just relaxed and went with the flow.Glad to get back and recoup,There's no place like Home.The only downside was I only had a couple of decent meals while I was there.I would reccomend Island Perks for breakfast,It'll make you forget about Orange Blossom.

We did have a great time. Our rental was a bit sub-par, but it is harder to find ocean side rentals that are smaller...most are HUGE. Wife was not super happy about the pad, but at least it was clean and the views made up for the rest.

We had a couple sunny days with the rest cloudy and windy, but still excellent. Nothin' like putting on a sweatshirt and walking with the family and the dog on the beach in October.

People in OBX were fantastic...we ate like Champions...brought crab down with us from Kill Devil hills, bought seafood from Risky Business (we stayed in Avon this year). Had a great blackened drumfish sandwich from Cafe 12. And a great piece of Tuna from the Froggy Dog on our last night there.

My son's 5th birthday was on Friday so we ate at Toppers pizza and the food was great...even the dinner salads. I am not sure if everything tastes better at the beach or what!

When we left on Saturday the road in Rodanthe was washed out, so that just added to the adventure...my son loved that! I just love that you can't be in a hurry anywhere on the OBX, and that is a good thing my friends!

We got the crabs near Elizabeth City from a local Crabber that gets them on the sound side, he only does it on the weekends. Then my folks came down for a couple of days and they brought crab from Austin's in Kill Devil Hills.

I called Gene the Crabman, but meeting just didn't work out since we were all the way down in Avon. I would have got them from him if the timing was better!
